Kihingami Vocational Eco – Tourism Training Institute is named after the Kihingami Wetland Eco – Tourism Association which was established in the year 2000 to protect the Kihingami Wetlands threatened by the tea developers and the rapid growing population.
Upon establishment of Kihingami Eco- Toursim Association Constitution and approved by C.O.B. – Busoro Sub – County, the site started to operate concentrating on tourism activities and train people who would guide the tourists in the Rwenzori region and the entire country.
KVETTI courses are developed through a process of continuous research and extensive consultations with academic and tourism industry, fashion & design experts.

- Trained 975 students, 720 are employed so far with no regrets

- Liaison with Empower Campaign Educate Foundation in Conservation (USA)
